Food & Beverages
There are a variety of food and beverage options for you to choose from at Tanglewood. For detailed information and menus, please visit the Dining at Tanglewood page.
Tanglewood Café–Features grab and go style casual fare, the Tanglewood Café is located between the Lions Gate and the Highwood Manor House.
Tanglewood Grille (Taste of the Berkshires)–Features grab and go style offerings from local restaurants. Enjoy mediterranean, latin, and BBQ options, as well as favorites like french fries and ice cream!
Concessions –Light snacks and beverages are on offer at the Shed Shack, Tappan Shack, Lion’s Gate Shack, and the shed Beer Garden.
Ice-Cream–Ice-cream can be purchased at the many ice-cream carts, the Ice–Cream Tent near the Main Gate, and many of our other eating establishments.
Cindy’s Café–Located at the Linde Center for Music and Learning, Cindy’s Café offers patrons a variety of locally sourced and inspired dining options, including a pre-concert dinner buffet.
Highwood Manor House Dining –The Highwood Manor House is a dinner option for donors on Friday and Saturday (reservations only), as well as offering a Sunday Brunch Buffet available to the public by reservation.
Meals-to-Go –During the season, have more time to enjoy Tanglewood by ordering a picnic in advance and dine on the grounds.
All online food orders can be picked up at the Tanglewood Grille, which is located to the right of the Main Gate entrance inside the grounds. Please look for a sign that says "Pick up your Meals-to-Go here." If the Tanglewood Grille is closed, Meals-to-Go are to be picked up at the Shed Shack.
You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages. We invite you to enjoy a picnic on our beautiful lawn. We do have food and drinks for purchase as well.
For safety purposes, only water is allowed in the Shed. All other food and beverages must be consumed prior to entering the Shed. We kindly ask that you properly dispose of your trash at designated trash receptacles on campus.
Tickets
If you have misplaced or never received your tickets, please contact Ticketing & Customer Service prior to the performance. If it is less than 24 hours before the event/performance, you can come to the Box Office at Tanglewood in person. Please have your order confirmation email ready when you arrive at the Box Office.

All people require a ticket for attendance regardless of age. Thanks to the generosity of special donors, Tanglewood is pleased to offer free lawn tickets to any children under the age of 18. Up to four free children’s tickets are available per parent/legal guardian per concert. Eligible only for BSO, Boston Pops, and Tanglewood Music Center performances. Not eligible for Popular Artist concerts. Tickets for kids can be obtained on the day of the performance at any of our box office locations. Children under the age of 2 are eligible for a free ticket to all performances.
For some Popular Artist performances, there are discounted children's lawn tickets. These can be purchased by contacting Ticketing & Customer Service or in person at our Tanglewood Box Offices. Otherwise, there are no discounted children's tickets.
All ticket sales are final at Tanglewood. All events at Tanglewood are rain or shine, and refunds shall not be issued in case of inclement weather with the exception of complete cancellation of an event. In the event of inclement weather, BSO may elect to cancel the event or delay/postpone the event. For questions, contact our Ticketing & Customer Service team.
Saturday Morning Rehearsals begin at 10:30am, and generally last 2-3 hours. There is a pre-concert talk at 9:30am for each rehearsal, which is a lecture or interview that features information about the rehearsal’s program. We also offer Yoga on the Lawn starting at 10:15am. More information can be found here. Please keep in mind that these are working rehearsals, meaning they do not necessarily include all pieces on the program. There will likely be stops and starts during the rehearsal.
Weather
All concerts at Tanglewood take place rain or shine. We cannot offer refunds due to inclement weather. In the event of lightning in the area patrons should make their way to the nearest Severe Weather Shelter. For further info regarding sever weather, please visit the Tanglewood Info page.
Accessible Services
The BSO is committed to providing access to Tanglewood for everyone. Accessible seats are available. Please contact our Access Services ticketing and customer service at 617-266-1200, or email access@bso.org. More information about accessibility at Tanglewood can be found here.
While we do not offer wheelchairs for rent, we do offer wheelchair escorts. Please ask one of our parking attendants or other Tanglewood staff members and they will assist you in getting a wheelchair escort. There are no advanced reservations for wheelchair assistance. This is a free service that we are happy to provide for our guests.
Please note that the Lions gate and areas with steep incline do not have wheelchair assistance given the slope of the landscape
To obtain a Braille program please call our Access Services office at 617-266-1200 and they will arrange to have the program printed for your visit to Tanglewood. We ask that the request be made at least 10 days in advance.
If you need a large print program, please ask an usher upon arriving at Tanglewood and they would be happy to provide one for you.
Tanglewood offers assisted listening devices for the Shed, Ozawa Hall, and Linde Center venues. Please feel free to ask an usher for one upon entering. These devices are for use inside our enclosed venues, or inside the Shed. This equipment is not designed to be used at long ranges, but we have excellent sound amplification on the back of the Shed for lawn patrons.
If you are parked in the accessible parking lot and need further transportation assistance, we offer a jitney service from the parking lot to the gates. The jitney carts are not allowed onto the grounds for safety reasons, so they will take you to the gate entrance. If you need assistance making your way across Tanglewood’s grounds, our wheelchair service is available to assist once at the gate entrances.

Yes, the lawn area on the side of the shed closest to the Round House Gate is specifically designated for the use of patrons with access needs. It can be seen on the Tanglewood Shed & Lawn Map.
Yes, sign language interpreters can be made available upon request with advanced notice. To request a sign language interpreter, contact our Access Services ticketing and customer service at 617-266-1200 or email access@bso.org.
