About

William Ge, 16, is a student at Phillips Academy Andover and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. He has been playing piano for 12 years and currently studies with Ya-Fei Chuang and John Perry. Previously, he studied with Natalie Zhu and the late Joy Kiszely. After winning the Albert M. Greenfield Concerto Competition in 2019, William debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra in October 2022. The Philadelphia Inquirer described his rendition of Mozart’s Concerto No. 23 as “notably fluid while gilding the music with spots of interpretive individualization.” William won second place and the Chopin Award at the 2023 MTNA National Senior Piano Competition and is a two-year recipient of the Chopin Foundation’s Chopin Scholarship. One of 28 Caroline D. Bradley Scholars in the class of 2025 in the U.S., William loves physics and writing, and is heavily involved in school activities: he’s acted as an Eco-Leader in Andover’s Sustainability Coalition and runs distance on the track team. William is an associate editor of The Phillipian, Andover’s weekly publication.
