St. Paul's Choir School

The boys of St. Paul's Choir School

About

The Billboard chart-topping Boy Choristers of St. Paul’s Choir School, Harvard Square, is one of the premier ensembles of its kind in the country. The choir is composed of boy choristers in fifth through eighth grades, educated in the European cathedral school tradition at St. Paul’s Choir School, along with altos, tenors, and basses. These singers are drawn from Boston’s top professional vocalists and include choral scholars, who are recent graduates of the choir school. The choir performs hymns, plainchant, and the finest choral music from the church’s extensive and rich repertoire weekly in the sublime acoustics of St. Paul’s Church. The choristers offer daily choral services during term time, as well as frequent concerts, international tours, and recordings. They previously collaborated with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in performances of Leonard Bernstein’s Kaddish Symphony and Igor Stravinsky’s Perséphone. Since the founding of the choir school in 1963 by Dr. Theodore Marier, the choir has enjoyed long-standing collaborations with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Boston Pops. They have also produced two commercial CD recordings and made appearances at Fenway Park and on "Good Morning America."
