Mariela Lopez-Ponce is absolutely honored and thrilled to take part in this Holiday Pops season. Mariela is a founding member of Teatro Chelsea and has directed and performed with various theater groups in the Boston area and in her hometown of Miami. She is a member of Actors’ Equity. She recently directed the Teatro Chelsea/Apollinaire Theater co-production Don't Eat the Mangos. Other recent credits include playing Magdalena/Perla in Quixote Nuevo (Hartford Stage/Huntington Theatre/Alley Theatre touring production); Sonia/Pilar in Sonia Flew (Wellesley Repertory), Eleanor in The Lion in Winter (Lexington Players); with Apollinaire Theater, the role of Gertrude in Hamlet, Cheesecake in A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of the Greatest of the Great Lakes, which won an Elliot Norton Award, and Mother in Blood Wedding; and with Lyric Stage Boston, Haikumom in Water by the Spoonful and Ana in Living Out (IRNE Award for Best Actress).
