Making his BSO debut, Croatian bass Goran Jurić has recently sung the role of the Priest at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. Other recent opera highlights include Ernani at Bregenz Festival, Macbeth at the Irish Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, Der fliegende Holländer in Bologna, Norma in Dresden, Die Entführung aus dem Serail in Vienna and Toronto, Don Giovanni in Madrid, The Fiery Angel in Rome, Betrothal in a Monastery at Staatsoper Berlin, Damnation de Faust in Rome and Berlin, Lohengrin in Antwerp and Madrid, Rossini’s Mosè in Egitto in Naples and at Bregenz Festival, Die Zauberflöte in Toronto, Florence and Venice, Fidelio in Madrid, Rigoletto in Rome, and La Bohème in Venice and Florence.
Jurić is a frequent performer at Staatsoper Stuttgart, where he has played Wotan in Das Rheingold, Hunding in Die Walküre, the water goblin in Rusalka, Philippe in Don Carlos, Pimen in Boris Godunov, Colline in La bohème, and King Clubs in The Love for Three Oranges. He also sings regularly at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
As a concert singer, Jurić has performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Naples, Kodály’s Te deum Budaváry in Munich, Stravinsky’s Les noces in Zurich, and in operatic concerts in Hamburg and Frankfurt. Additional concert performances include Frère Dominique in Arthur Honegger’s Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher, Ivan in Berislav Šipuš’ Osorski plač, Schubert's Mass No. 6, Handel's Dettinger Te Deum and Messiah, Charpentier's Te Deum, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's Missa in angustiis, Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, and Schütz's Musikalische Exequien.
