Erik Tofte
About
Erik Tofte is a baritone from the Greater Binghamton area, NY. He is a graduate of Curtis Institute of Music, Mannes School of Music, and SUNY Binghamton. Tofte was a 2024 Festival Artist with Opera Saratoga, where he performed the role of Calvin and covered the role of Sky Masterson. While in Saratoga, Tofte was seen performing in various concerts and promotional events throughout the summer.
In March of 2024, he performed the challenging role of Le Mari in the Poulenc opera Les Mamelles de Tiresias with Curtis Opera under the direction of Eve Summer and Michelle Rofrano. Shortly before this role, Tofte appeared as a recitalist singing Ravel’s Don Quichotte a Dulcinee for the Main Line Reform Temple, in Main Line, PA.
In the fall of 2023, Tofte appeared as Harlekin in excerpts from Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos, conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin at Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. In March of 2023, Tofte performed in his first mainstage role with Curtis Opera Theater as Belcore in L’Elisir d’amore.
He has performed professionally with Delaware Valley Opera in Lake Huntington, NY in La Boheme, Rigoletto, The Pirates of Penzance, The Gift of The Magi, and The Telephone and The Medium. He has also performed with Tri-Cities Opera in H.M.S. Pinafore and Madame Butterfly. Other appearances include with Beth Morrison Projects, Concordia Conservatory, Mannes Opera, NY Opera Studio, as a soloist with Arcadia Chorale, and Binghamton University.
