Each year, high school students from across the state showcase their musical talents for an opportunity to perform with the Boston Pops at a live concert in the Spring Pops season. For this special anniversary year, we are launching months earlier than before with the goal of ensuring that communities across the state know to encourage young instrumentalists and vocalists to apply.

Winners have the opportunity to work with world-class musicians from the Boston Pops and receive one-on-one coaching from renowned artists, including Boston Pops maestro Keith Lockhart. Whether past winners have gone on to prestigious conservatories and distinguished performance careers, or simply incorporated their talents into their family or community, this competition remains a highlight of their youth.

There will be an open webinar in January with Dennis Alves, Director of Artist Planning for The Boston Pops, to learn more about the Young Artists Competition and to answer any questions from applicants, guardians/parents, and musical instructors. Please share the competition website and registration link for the webinar with anyone in your community that might be interested.

We welcome you to join us in discovering and celebrating the amazing young talent all around us!
