Step into the world of the man who took the art form to new heights and into the world of Romanticism.  Each concert program is complemented by a free interdisciplinary event designed by the BSO Humanities Institute that will help illuminate new facets of the composer’s life and work and its enduring relevance.

Piano Master Class with Marc-André Hamelin on the Symphony Hall Stage

We’re excited to welcome four high school students to workshop an individual movement of a Beethoven piano sonata. Students are invited to submit a video recording of them playing a single movement of a Beethoven Sonata of their choice for consideration. The master class will be open for the public to observe and is planned for Saturday, January 25 from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

Für Elise Reimagined

To celebrate the global impact of Beethoven, we are inviting musicians of all levels worldwide participate in Für Elise Reimagined by recording themselves interpreting this work with any instrument in any style or genre. Learn more and submit your interpretation by January 5, 2025!
