Unfortunately, cellist Yo-Yo Ma has had to withdraw from Sunday’s performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No. 1 due to testing positive for COVID-19. We are fortunate that unparalleled American soprano Renée Fleming has graciously agreed to step in to join the BSO, performing Richard Strauss songs with orchestra. The program otherwise remains the same. Ticket-holders who have questions may contact Ticketing and Customer Service at 888-266-1200 or tickets@bso.org.

Makeshift Castle
Julia Adolphe’s questing, mercurial Makeshift Castle, co-commissioned by the BSO and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, juxtaposes “the fragility of life and the resilience of the human spirit.”
