BRAHMS String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat, Op. 18
In honor of the opening of MIT's new Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building, the Boston Symphony Chamber Players is proud to present this concert featuring Portal, by MIT professor of music and award-winning composer Keeril Makan. Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring underscores the feeling of new beginnings and hope. Brahms’ rich and expressive String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat finishes the program. BSO Assistant Conductor Anna Handler leads the concert, featuring guest pianist Vytas Baksys.
This will be among the first performances in the new Thomas Tull Concert Hall in the Linde Music Building and is part of the MIT Artfinity festival.
Paid parking will be available in the Building W18 garage, located at 201 Amherst Street, for a flat rate of $11. There is also street parking in the area on Memorial Drive and Vassar Street.
