2020-2021 Annual Report

When COVID made it impossible for our neighbors to come to our concerts, the BSO and Boston Pops brought the concerts to the community. Called Rolling Recitals, these mini “tours” with BSO and Boston Pops musicians shared music throughout Greater Boston neighborhoods in October 2020 and May and June 2021 (including the performance at the Jamaica Pond bandstand shown here). The Rolling Recitals presented unique opportunities to forge meaningful relationships with the BSO’s surrounding neighborhoods while reflecting the BSO’s goal of making music accessible to all. The October 2020 Rolling Recitals were sponsored by Bank of America, Arbella Insurance Foundation, Berkshire Partners, and Clarke Living, while the the May and June 2021 Rolling Recitals were sponsored by Fidelity Investments, Takeda Pharmaceutical Company LTD, Arbella Insurance Foundation, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
