2020-2021 Annual Report

In honor of Black History Month in 2021, the BSO partnered with many artists from underrepresented communities whose work has been featured by the orchestra to launch an ongoing web video series called Meet the Artists. The videos focus directly on the artists’ lives and work, including current and upcoming projects with other ensembles, to paint a portrait of their inspiration and aspirations well beyond their connections to the BSO. Featuring violinist Elena Urioste, storyteller/narrator Charlotte Blake Alston, flautist/composer Allison Loggins-Hull (shown above), trumpeter/conductor Byron Stripling, and composers James Lee III, Carlos Simon, and Kareem Roustom, Meet the Artists is distributed on the BSO’s social media channels throughout the year.
